IThe ground

The brief.

SculptIndia called for a premium e-commerce platform shaped around handcrafted sculpture. Artist Prem Lata Sarkar (whose work has been selected by the National Gallery of Modern Art) needed a digital home for ready-to-ship pieces, made-to-order works, custom commissions, and quote-led sales for large or fragile sculptures. The experience also needed considered GST pricing for Indian buyers, a curated catalogue, customer CRM, shipping with AWB tracking, reviews, and a commission workflow.

Our response.

We built SculptIndia as a full-stack monorepo with a Next.js 16 + React 19 storefront and admin dashboard, a NestJS 11 REST API, and PostgreSQL with Drizzle ORM. The platform supports four unique listing modes — Buy Now (ready to ship), Made-to-Order (custom production timeline), Request Quote (manager-review for large/fragile items), and Commission (fully custom sculpture briefs). The admin dashboard gives the artist full control over works, collections, orders, shipping with label generation, customers, reviews, chat support tickets, and studio settings. We integrated Razorpay for payments (cards, UPI, net banking, wallets), Cloudinary for image hosting, and Redis + BullMQ for background jobs like emails and invoices. An AI chat widget handles customer inquiries with manager handoff.

Course 01
Art-First E-commerce Architecture
Designed a platform purpose-built for handcrafted art. Four listing modes reflect the rhythm of sculpture sales, with archive visibility for sold pieces so buyers can discover and request similar works.
Course 02
Monorepo Full-Stack Build
Built as a monorepo with Next.js 16 frontend (storefront + admin) and NestJS 11 backend API. Used PostgreSQL with Drizzle ORM, Zustand + IndexedDB for cart state, session-based auth with HTTP-only cookies, and full guest checkout support.
Course 03
Admin Operations & CRM
Created a comprehensive admin dashboard with role-based access (Owner, Manager, Editor, Customer), works and collections CRUD, order and shipping management with AWB tracking, customer CRM, reviews moderation, chat and support tickets, and an audit log for all admin actions.

India-First Commerce
Engineered for Indian operations — GST pricing display, Razorpay integration for local payment methods (UPI, cards, net banking, wallets), India-specific shipping workflows, and session-based auth optimized for the local market.
